The Pavilion

Continuing the project tradition, during the ITExpo 2012 event, 1-3 February 2012, OpenSIPS project will host the OpenSIPS Pavilion in booth #535 (see floormap).

The OpenSIPS Pavilion is a common exhibiting area under the OpenSIPS project umbrella gathering companies doing business with or around the OpenSIPS project

The message sent by the participants to the OpenSIPS Pavilion is :

       "Yes, we do open source in our business and OpenSIPS is a reliable and powerful component of our industry solutions!

The OpenSIPS Pavilion goal is to send a strong message about the successful symbiosis between the project side (as development) and the industry side (as usage), underlining the cross dependency between the two parts: OpenSIPS project delivers a powerful software to industry (to further build commercial products), while industry constantly supports the project with vital resources for the open source development.


The Conference

During the ITExpo conference, there will severals talks from people supporting OpenSIPS project (alphabetical order):

  • Adrian Georgescu - SIP Conferencing Done Right 11:00-11:45am Wednesday - 02/01/12 - This presentation focuses on the IETF standards and open source software tools available to implement multimedia conferencing using SIP and MSRP protocols. Conferencing involves multiple parties and multiple media. Adding, removing and modifying conference media and participants is part of real time communications capabilities of a modern software communications client. The talk covers the theoretical concepts of conferencing with live demonstrations involving Asterisk, OpenSIPS, Blink and SylkServer software
  • Bogdan-Andrei Iancu - Hosted PBX - stepping into the Cloud 11:00-11:45am Thursday - 02/01/12 - when talking about hosted PBX, how much of it should be hosted on provider site and how much should be residing in client premises? Also, how can we benefit of all advantages by moving into the Cloud? Considering the High-availability, the distribution and the autonomy of the service, how do we combine all in an OpenSIPS based solution.
  • Saúl Ibarra Corretgé - SIP conferencing reloaded 11:00-11:45am Friday - 02/03/12 - Traditional conferencing has existed for a number of years now, providing an easy way for participants with an audio/video bridge where they can have a conversation. As the need for using new communications mechanisms grow, the conferencing experience nees to be enhanced as well. Instant messaging and File Transfers using MSRP and presence are two key factors when delivering a unified and contextaware conferencing experience. Rich conferencing can be achieved today with latest standards around the SIP protocol, providing a conferencing experience that goes beyond the traditional audio mixing experience. The talk will go through the required technologies to deliver such a new conferencing experience.
